Sometimes you just need a day on the beach and instead of loading the chairs and the cooler in the car just grab your RV and take it to Magnolia Beach in Texas. You can stay right on the beach with the waves right at your back window.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>
Magnolia Beach is located on the waterfront of Lavaca Bay on the eastern coast line of Texas in a small community. As you are making the drive the most direct path leads your through the Magnolia community and opens up to a long open beach with an inter-coastal waterfront. One of the first questions with staying on any beach is are you going to get stuck? The answer at Magnolia is “no”. This beach is made of hard packed sand and crushed shell. Everything from diesel pushers to tear drop trailers on lined down this coast line.<\/p>\n
The next thing that we were asked if the tide is going to come in on us. If you take a look at the map where the beach is located it is protected by a land mass that runs down the eastern coastline of Texas separating it from the Gulf of Mexico. That doesn’t mean that it can’t get tides but would take extreme weather conditions for them to raise to the level where the RV parking is occurring. During the time of our stay the only changes in water current that we experienced was from heavy winds or passing barges coming through the channel only causing minor waves.<\/p>\n
You can stay on the beach for 14 days with a 30 day gap in between your stays at no charge! That is right… free. I have seen pictures of Rv’s parked parallel to the beach and apparently that used to be a thing but now to allow for more to enjoy the beach you must park perpendicular to the beach. Most are parked at a slight slant to the beach to allow their windows to favor the water view. The beach is monitored by the locals so the parking is enforced and you will see those folks pass by on their golf carts multiple times a day.<\/p>\n
We have stayed on the beach on two different occasions; once in March and the other in November. In our experience the November stay was much more humid than our previous stay. Both times there was a lot of open and available space. We came in with a full fresh tank and empty waste tanks. There are bathrooms on the main beach that can be used to help keep that black tank empty but not the most convenient as it would be a walk depending on where you choose to park.<\/p>\n
